Job Description
Pathways Employment Help Centre (PEHC) unleashes people’s potential through Employment, Skills Training and Advocacy. Pathways is currently hiring a Research Assistant to support the development of a new community initiative. This is a Canada Summer Jobs funded position requiring applicants to be born after August 1, 1993.
Reporting to CEO, the Research Assistant will complete an analysis of Tiny home projects aimed at addressing homelessness and precarious housing. The RA will review related social enterprise and community projects taking place in Canada and across North America, creating a report of project findings.

Job Duties:
- Identify tiny home and micro home forms of development, both individual and cluster.
- Create a compendium of such developments, including digital images and news sources
- Outline target occupants and conditions for success
- Identify zoning and municipal regulations that both encourage and impede the development
- Prepare interview questions and conduct interviews
- Write reports to summarize data and the implications of the results
Qualifications:
- Completion of an Undergraduate Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Urban Geography, Public Administration, Environmental Studies or a related field
- Strong research and writing skills
- Proven ability to create and work to a project plan
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail
- Superior communication skills
