Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Maintenance Millwright is a full-time position, responsible for all aspects of equipment and facilities maintenance. All tasks must be performed while adhering to and promoting safe work practices and food safety policies. Both urgency and a view to long-term improvements are necessary. Tasks typically completed independently but as a result of collaboration with other departments.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations
Ensuring all plant equipment is functioning at optimum levels by performing short-term repairs and long-term improvements
Assisting with the installation of all new equipment
Completing plant work orders and preventive maintenance
Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions
Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts
Cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on machineries
Assisting in refining preventative maintenance program and spares inventory
Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area
Performing other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed Millwright, minimum 4 years’ experience
Experience with packaging machinery, pneumatics, PLC’s, hydraulics, compressors
Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
Experience with Mig and Stick welding
Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards
Ability to work independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times in a diverse working environment
Ability to work in a team environment
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Ability to work predominantly day shifts with occasional off-shift and weekend work
REMUNERATION
$25.00 - $30.00/hour with group health, dental plan. Wage will commensurate based on experience .
