Job Description
Thames Valley Children's Centre is the regional rehabilitation Centre serving children and young people with physical disabilities, communication, and developmental needs in Southwestern Ontario. Located in London, we are a community-oriented Centre providing assessment, diagnosis, consultation and therapy. We serve more than 6,000 children, ranging from newborn to young adults, every year. Our research, creativity and innovations have made us pioneers in the treatment and management of disabilities.
We are currently recruiting for a full-time, regular Community Relations Officer, Donor Relations & Annual Giving to join our Community Relations team. Working with the Director of Community Relations, this position’s primary responsibilities are in the areas of donor relations and recognition, database management, annual giving and research.
Responsibilities:
· Manages and administers the fundraising database
· Manage and Coordinate the processing of all donations and maintain donor/sponsor/advertiser database tracking systems, with administrative and/or volunteer support
· Writes reports and queries to enable tracking and performance of appeals
· Process donor gifts and pledges and issue receipts
· Reconciles database content with accounting records on a monthly basis
· Assists in developing and implementing database policies and procedures
· Develops Donor Recognition procedures consistent with the Donor Recognition and Stewardship Policy
· Maintain records for donor stewardship (gift designation, plaques, recognition, etc.)
· Plan and implement direct mail appeals consistent with fundraising and communications objectives
· Write solicitation letters
· Ensures that thank you letters and receipts are issued in a timely manner
Qualifications:
· University or Community College Graduate in Fund Development, Business, Communications, Library Science, or equivalent
· Three years experience in fund development and data management
· Proficient in use of Raiser’s Edge, Crystal Reports, with the ability to design queries and reports
· Proficient in understanding wealth indicators, including income, assets such as property and stockholdings data, valuable collections, philanthropic activity and private foundations
· Superior communication skills
· Ability to manage and prioritize several projects
