McCormick Home is a not-for-profit Long Term Care Home with 160 beds, governed by the Women's Christian Association (WCA) of London.  A component of the Home includes Alzheimer Outreach Services (AOS). 

Description:  The Long Term Care Home is seeking Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) for all shifts.   These positions have responsibility for:

• Overall provision of professional nursing care based on his/her knowledge of residents in Long Term Care, their health and the environment.
• Overall leadership in the form of the Team Leader by providing guidance and support for the Personal Support Assistants while seeking guidance and support from the Registered Nurses.

Qualifications:

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a RPN.
• Current CPR Heartsaver Certificate required.
• Completion of Pharmacology Certificate.
• Ability to plan care using Resident Assessment Instrument - Mininimum Data Set 2.0 (RAI-MDS 2.0)
• Recent related work experience in Geriatrics, Long Term Care and/or Re-Hab, preferred.
• Certification as a "Psychogeratric Resoure" with P.I.E.C.E.S. training, preferred.
• Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) training, preferred.
• Knowledge of diseases and conditions causing memory impairment in frail elderly population; experience with memory impaired population.
• Ability and knowledge to work within a computerized environment.
• Excellent documentation, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work as an effective team member.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position and able to apply effective body mechanics.
